Reclaim Your Smile

Although they’ve been around for ages, today’s dentures are more comfortable and natural-looking than those of the past. These dental appliances can either replace all of your teeth or a few, known as partial dentures.

Both types may require some teeth to be pulled or surgery on the bony ridges beneath the gums to accommodate your new dentures better and ensure they have a perfect feel and fit.

The Process: What to Expect

We begin by taking a 3D scan of your teeth, avoiding the discomfort and mess of traditional moulds. These scans are sent off-site to a local lab that delivers high-quality prosthetics tailored to your specific needs.

If full dentures are necessary and extractions are required, a temporary denture is placed to assist with healing and provide “teeth” while your gums heal. Partial ones replace missing teeth and are attached to existing teeth with anchors made of plastic or metal.

A final denture is prepared after all healing has taken place, usually within 6-12 months. Both full and partial appliances are removed at night when you sleep, allowing saliva to wash over your gums and maintain a healthy mouth.

What Type Do I Need?

At Hawthorn Dental Hub, we offer three types of dentures to suit every situation:

  • Full – complete replacement for all teeth in the upper or lower jaw, restoring complete function and aesthetics, providing a natural look
  • Partial – replace one or more missing teeth and are anchored to existing teeth, preventing shifting of remaining teeth, are cost-effective, and are removable
  • Implant-Retained – secured by dental implants offering enhanced stability, improved chewing ability, and long-lasting results
